Rain Forest
Plants in the tropical rainforest me.
In the tropical rain forest biome, there is a diversity of many different types of plants. In fact, the tropical forest is home to 1500 different kind of plants and 800 different kind of trees. Most of the trees are as high as 50 ft, to get sunlight. Small trees and plants have to tolerate low light due to how hard it is to get sunlight. Many types of plants plant themselves onto canopy branches to get enough light. (epiphytes)

Bark trees:
Most bark trees have a thin, smooth bark. The smoothness of the bark may also make it difficult for other plants to grow on their surface
LIanas:
Lianas are climbing woody vines that drape rainforest trees. They have adapted to life in the rainforest by having their roots in the ground and climbing high into the tree canopy to reach available sunlight. Many lianas start life in the rainforest canopy and send roots down to the ground.

Epiphytes:
Epiphytes are plants that live on the surface of other plants, especially the trunk and branches. They grow on trees to take advantage of the sunlight in the canopy. Most are orchids, bromeliads, and ferns. Tiny plants called epiphylls, mostly mosses, liverworts and lichens, live on the surface of leaves.

Buttress Roots:
Most rainforest soil is very poor so some very tall trees have developed ways of obtaining much needed additional support by forming buttressed roots, which grow out from the base of the trunk sometimes as high as 15 ft above the ground. These extended roots also increase the area over which nutrients can be absorbed from the soil.
